22 Online Campaigns for Buy Egyptian Day

Sarmady actively participated in the "Buy Egyptian Day" and wanted to raise awareness about the event to the millions of daily visitors on Sarmady's websites.

Banners were created to tell Egyptians how to know whether or not a product is made in Egypt by checking the serial number under the bar code of the product, which should start with 622.

Additionally, Sarmady gave away free advertising. A total of 22 campaigns for various types of brands ran on Sarmady's websites. The highest click-through rate (CTR) was registered by the Three Chefs campaign. The CTR was 0.82% which is considerably higher than the average CTR for banner ads (roughly estimated to be 0.2%).

I hear the funky, hip and upbeat melodies of a New Orleans-Style funeral procession ... Yes, ladies and gentlemen: Our very own iCroc.com, home to The Croc for the last 4 or so years is now officially closed (due to Hurricane-type events).

And, while it's certainly sad to see that channel go, The Croc is NOT homeless or retiring! Our loveable and cranky reptile reviewer of all things Egyptian, is now residing in several new places: FilBalad.com (both web and mobile), Facebook, and Twitter (virtually, everywhere)

New Managing Director and Sales Restructure at Sarmady

Following Vodafone Egypt's total acquisition of Sarmady in September 2011, Hatem Dowidar, CEO at Vodafone Egypt, and Con O'Donnell, Sarmady Founder and Managing Director, announced the appointment of Shady Eneim as Managing Director, to continue leading the success story of Sarmady.

Additional to the above, Ahmed Helaly, current Sales Director, has decided to leave the company. As a result, a restructure was done in the commercial teams to now have both Marketing and Sales within one department led by Ashraf Maklad as Sales and Marketing Director.
